This page covers what familiarvtt.com (this website) and the Familiar module collect. The short version: as little as possible.

This website

familiarvtt.com uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count page views, basic interactions like which buttons get clicked, and loading performance. These are cookieless and aggregate. They set no cookies, store no personal data, and do not track you across other sites. There is no ad network and no third-party tracker, which is why you see no cookie banner.

The Familiar module

The module itself collects nothing: no telemetry, no analytics, no usage reporting. It runs inside your local Foundry world, and your game data only leaves your machine when you choose to send a message to your AI provider. Point the Local AI tab at a model on the same machine, and no game data leaves it at all. Two calls do reach the network without you asking, and both concern the software rather than your world. Familiar refreshes the model list from your provider when a world loads, so the dropdowns stay current. It checks your licence with Polar at most once a week, sending the licence key and the product id and nothing else.

Payments

Subscriptions are handled by Polar, our merchant of record. Polar processes your payment and stores your billing details under their privacy policy. We never see your card number.

Your AI provider

Familiar is bring-your-own-key. When you talk to your game, your prompts go to the provider you chose (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, a local model, or another on the list) under that provider's terms. Familiar never proxies, stores, or marks up that traffic.
